Published: 9th September 2013

A report out in the National has stated that the government of the United Arab Emirates plans to grant visas to owners of freehold property throughout the Emirates within the next twelve months.

The new proposal would see owners of freehold property in the United Arab Emirates being offered a six month renewable visa, irrespective of the size of property or the nationality of the prospective purchaser.

The report in the National was quoting Brig Gen Nasser Al Minhah, Acting Director General of the Federal Department of Naturalisation and Residency. The Director General went on to say that the new law was part of a wider initiative aimed at unifying the visa system related to home purchases.
